Many times people ask me about myself and what makes me the way I am. In all honesty, my beliefs, thoughts and life has seen many of the same circumstances that others face. I like others before me and coming behind me search for the real true meanings of life. For myself, it has been a journey that has covered many years from birth until now. I have experienced passionate highs as well as lowdown lows at some time. From every moment I have been alive, I feel and believe there is purpose in all the details.
I have become a full time professional photographer and the details of life have presented themselves in the images I capture. There is always an excitement when I am shooting, trying to see not just what is obvious but the real subject from within. Photography for me isn’t just about a picture but a relationship with each subject that is before my lens. It could just be a leaf, old building,maybe an old barn. It might be a beautiful human being, or an animal, sometimes it is a combination of life and static things. I would hang up my camera if I could no longer build that relationship between the heart of the subject or myself. Photography for me is about life, no matter where the journey is for myself or my subject.
As I have grown older, I want to focus more on life and images about life. There are many lifestyles, as many as there are individual people, both those who have been, those who are and those who will be. Life is also a blessing, we are given life and choices to make throughout it that either transforms us in a positive way or negative way. I just can’t imagine anyone really living without understanding we are made up of those things we face and the choices we make. I choose to see life as a gift and find the blessings in some of the most difficult things I have had to face.
With my work and life, I hope to encourage others to find those blessings and to understand that we all can be the person we desire to be from within if we will just trust that God made us the way we are. If we will just follow and trust that He will show us the way.
